At RQST (“we,” “our,” or “us”), your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the circumstances under which we may share it when you use our website and services at rqst.live (the “Platform”).
We collect the following categories of information to operate our services effectively and to provide you with the best possible experience:
- Account Information: Information you provide when creating an account, such as your email, username, password, and optional artist profile details. Email verification is required for account creation and access to certain features.
- Payment Information: While we process subscriptions, tips, and song requests through third-party providers (Polar.sh for subscriptions, Venmo for tips, and Stripe Connect for song requests), we do not store your complete payment details on our servers.
- Tax Information (Affiliates): For affiliates participating in our Affiliate Program, we may be required to collect tax information (such as tax ID numbers) when earnings reach reporting thresholds as required by law. This information is collected securely by Stripe, our compliance partner, through their tax identity collection system. RQST does not store your tax ID or other sensitive tax information. For U.S.-based affiliates, tax information collection is required once eligible earnings reach $600 in a calendar year. Requirements for affiliates outside the U.S. vary by country.
- Location Data: For artist profiles, we may collect city and state information that you choose to provide.
- Fan Interactions: When you submit or receive song requests, tips, and dedications, we collect and share the relevant details to enable that interaction.
- Usage Data: Technical data such as device type, IP address, browser type, and activity logs may be collected for analytics, troubleshooting, and security purposes. This includes QR code scan counts and interaction data when QR codes are used to access artist profiles.
- Cookies and Tracking Tools: We use cookies and similar technologies for login functionality, personalization, and analytics. We use Google Analytics and on-site tracking tools to understand how users interact with our Platform.
- Coupons & Discounts: When using promotional codes, we record redemption details for tracking and fraud prevention.
- Affiliate Tracking: If you were referred by an affiliate, we may log referral IDs and transaction details through our internal affiliate tracking system, which uses Polar webhooks and custom database tracking.
- Marketing Preferences: When you opt in to receive Brevo-powered product updates, we store your consent status along with the name and email information you provide so we can honor your choices.
We use the information collected to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform.
- Facilitate artist/fan interactions such as song requests, tips, and bookings.
- Process subscriptions, payments, and promotional codes.
- Send notifications and updates related to your account.
- Send marketing communications you explicitly opt in to receive.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
- Enforce our Terms & Conditions and comply with legal obligations.
- Artists: Fan request and tip information is shared with the artist receiving it.
- Service Providers: Hosting, analytics, email, and payment partners may process your data on our behalf. This includes Ably, which provides real-time communication services for live status updates, requests, and setlists; Resend, which provides transactional email services for account notifications and authentication; and Stripe, which provides payment processing and tax compliance services, including tax identity collection for affiliates as required by law.
- Marketing Providers: We use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to deliver optional marketing communications. When you opt in, your email and provided name are shared with Brevo solely for that purpose.
- Legal & Safety Reasons: Information may be disclosed where required by law or to protect the safety and rights of users and RQST.
- Free Accounts: Limited to basic artist profiles with no fan transactions.
- Paid Accounts: Include access to Backstage features such as tips, requests, live setlists, gig listings, and booking requests.
- Vanity URLs: Exclusive to paid accounts. If you downgrade, you will forfeit your vanity URL and other paid features.
We retain account data for as long as your account remains active. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings in Backstage.
When you request account deletion:
- Your account is immediately soft deleted (anonymized)
- Your profile and all associated data are removed from public view
- Your active subscription (if any) is immediately canceled
- Your personal information (email, name) is anonymized
- Your data is permanently deleted after a 90-day retention period for legal compliance
After the 90-day retention period, your data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Certain minimal audit records may be retained as required by law for compliance purposes.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: Download a copy of all your data via the "Download My Data" feature in your profile settings
- Right to Deletion: Delete your account at any time through your profile settings
- Right to Cookie Preferences: Manage your cookie preferences at any time at /privacy/cookies
- Right to Rectification: Update your profile information through your Backstage profile settings

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect your information, though no system is completely secure.
The Platform is not directed toward individuals under 13, or under the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction.
- Subscriptions: You may cancel at any time. Subscriptions remain active until the end of the billing cycle but are non-refundable.
- Tips/Requests: All fan tips and song requests are final and non-refundable.
- Account Deletion: Terminating your account cancels your subscription at the end of the current billing period.
Any disputes related to payments are handled through Polar.sh, Venmo, or Stripe. RQST does not mediate chargebacks.
Song requests are discretionary. Artists are under no obligation to perform any specific request.
Artists are solely responsible for ensuring their performances and content comply with copyright law. RQST does not license cover songs or grant copyright permissions. Infringing content may be removed.
We may offer a one-time 14-day free trial of Backstage features. Vanity URLs are excluded from trial access. Unless canceled before the trial ends, your account will automatically convert to a paid subscription.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the latest version.

We only send marketing communications—such as onboarding resources, feature tips, or product announcements—when you opt in within the Platform. Consent is stored in your profile and can be revoked at any time without affecting service access.
These emails are powered by Brevo (formerly Sendinblue). When you opt in, we share your email address and optional name with Brevo solely to deliver those messages. We do not sell or rent mailing list data.
To unsubscribe, use the link included in every marketing email or email hello@rqst.live. You will continue to receive transactional emails (login links, billing notices, critical service alerts) as needed to operate your account.
